State Reception Room

The State Reception Room is the largest room of the mansion, and is where the governor and first lady host events of appreciation for the citizens of Florida. Volunteers, teachers, students, legislators, business professionals, and thousands of others visit the mansion each year. Upon the request of the first family, various artists and art collections from around the state loan their artwork to display in this room.

Grand Piano

The Steinway & Sons Grand Piano in the State Reception Room is a prized addition to our mansion. Acquired during the term of Governor Jeb Bush in May 2003, the piano was a gift to honor the first lady's advocacy efforts on behalf of outstanding Florida students of the arts. The gift coincided with Steinway's 150th anniversary as an American manufacturer of some of the world's finest musical instruments.
